Ways to get involved in Colombia
Here's what our partners are running right now. Pick a placement that looks like a fit and we'll send the current dates and costs.
Why AmeriCorps alumni choose Colombia
Colombia has become one of the more interesting destinations for alumni with a social-services background. Medellín's transformation is a live case study in community development, and placements there run through education, women's programs, and youth work in neighborhoods that were the center of that change. It's a good place to see urban policy in practice rather than in a textbook. Spanish is the working language, costs are moderate, and stays can run from a week to several months. If you're thinking about graduate work in public policy or social work, this is a destination worth writing about later.
