Croatia
Split-based special needs and inclusion support.
Ways to get involved in Croatia
Here's what our partners are running right now. Pick a placement that looks like a fit and we'll send the current dates and costs.
Why AmeriCorps alumni choose Croatia
Croatia is a quieter option and a good one for alumni who want a European placement with a clear caregiving focus. Split placements center on special needs support and inclusion programs, working alongside local staff in day centers and community programs. The pace is calmer than a big-city placement and the coastline means your weekends are genuinely restorative. Placements are shorter here, generally one to twelve weeks, which makes Croatia a reasonable choice if you want to use part of your award without committing a full season.
- Special needs and inclusion support
- Calmer pace than city placements
- Short stays available
Placements run through International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ).

If you're using your Segal Education Award
Award funds have to go to a Title IV school, so your placement needs to carry academic credit. That required academic credit and enrollment fee starts at $999 and is on top of the program fees above. We'll walk you through it.
Fees change through the year. Ask us for the current Croatia numbers and we'll confirm them with the partner before you apply.
