Ways to get involved in Philippines

Here's what our partners are running right now. Pick a placement that looks like a fit and we'll send the current dates and costs.

Why AmeriCorps alumni choose Philippines

Palawan is the base, mostly around Aborlan. Placements cover teaching and childcare in local schools, mangrove replanting and beach clean-ups, construction and renovation, and support at rural clinics. English is widely spoken, so you can lead a lesson or a health workshop without a translator. Housing is dorm style with a volunteer group, which feels familiar if your service term was team based. Stays run one to twenty-four weeks and weekly costs are low, making this one of the better options for a long placement on a partial award.

  • Replant vital mangrove forests in coastal areas
  • Assist under-resourced rural clinics in Aborlan
  • Teach English and math to children in Palawan schools

Placements run through International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ).

If you're using your Segal Education Award

Award funds have to go to a Title IV school, so your placement needs to carry academic credit. That required academic credit and enrollment fee starts at $999 and is on top of the program fees above. We'll walk you through it.

Fees change through the year. Ask us for the current Philippines numbers and we'll confirm them with the partner before you apply.
