South Africa gives you the most choice of any destination here, which is both the appeal and the difficulty. Cape Town has youth surf and skate outreach, school support, and social work, Gansbaai has marine and shark research, and the Kruger area has wildlife management and bush work. English is a working language throughout. Costs are manageable per week, so an award covers a one week trip or a stay of several months. Pick your site before your dates, because the two ends of the country are entirely different experiences.

If you're using your Segal Education Award
Award funds have to go to a Title IV school, so your placement needs to carry academic credit. That required academic credit and enrollment fee starts at $999 and is on top of the program fees above. We'll walk you through it.
