Why AmeriCorps alumni choose South Korea
Seoul placements, several in the Guro district, cover English tutoring at community centers, animal rehabilitation, and food security work in local kitchens, with internships available in media, health sciences, and business. Programs run in English. Housing is a temple stay or a local guesthouse, and the temple option is the one people talk about afterward. Stays run one week to three months. Korea is not cheap, so an award goes furthest on a shorter placement, and the city is easy enough to navigate that you will not need much support once you arrive.

- A deposit that ranges from $499-$599 is required to confirm your participation. This is subtracted from the Program Fee total.
- It is important to note that internships in South Korea do not include meals and interns should budget to cover this Independently.

If you're using your Segal Education Award
Award funds have to go to a Title IV school, so your placement needs to carry academic credit. That required academic credit and enrollment fee starts at $999 and is on top of the program fees above. We'll walk you through it.
